What is the Second Language of the United States?

TEXT:

Bilingual

Hi pumpkin, how was school today?  Did you learn something new?

Yes, daddy, I did, but I am a bit confused.

Really?  What about?

Well today in class we talked about how other countries have more than one national language.  So I was wondering if the U.S. has more than one national language?

Ah, I see, that is very interesting.  I know that Canada's primary language is English, but their secondary language is French.

Well daddy, I was wondering if it could be Spanish?

Well pumpkin, there might be something there, because I know that most TV broadcasts, you have a SAP (Secondary Audio Programming). And most often that language is in Spanish--I don't recall if it ever broadcasts any other language?

So daddy, is Spanish the 2nd language for the United States, I wonder?

That's a very good question, but I really don't know.

So daddy, putting that aside, what are we eating today?

Well, coincidentally, I was thinking of Tacos!  :-)
