Does this sound familiar?


TEXT:

Mr. Johnson, we've accepted your offer and have promoted you so you could take charge of issue ISG2 in our company.  Please make this your first priority.

No problem, sir, this is why I elected myself to this task. It's a JV issue, I should get it fixed soon.

3 months later.

Mr. Johnson, have you taken care of issue ISG2?

Not yet, sir, but we are close.  Just need a bit more time to get it done.

6 months later.

Mr. Johnson, have you taken care of issue ISG2?

We are doing everything we can.  We've underestimated the problem from the start, but please be patient, I assure you that we are very close in eliminating this issue.

10 months later.

Mr. Johnson, have you taken care of issue ISG2?

Sir, I'm afraid I don't have a complete strategy.  The details are not yet worked out.  I'm currently waiting on another team to finalize a winning strategy.

Mr. Johnson, you are fired for incompetence!
